Description JOB SUMMARY The Registered/Registry Eligible Cardiovascular Technologist is responsible for administration of all cardiac and vascular exams.Job Specific:1. Performs echocardiograms (including TEE's and introp. studies) and vascular studies. (EF)2. Performs stress echos, TCD's and mobile ultrasound as applicable. (EF)3. Performs EKG's, stress tests, holter monitoring and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. (EF)4. Maintains continuing education.5. Keeps all areas stocked and neat in appearance (EF)Hospital:
Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital's Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital's Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.Performs within his/her professional Scope of Practice at all times.Other Duties As Assigned: Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Minimum Requirements EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSRequired: Graduate of Associate Degree patient care related program. Must have at least two years' experience in related field and one year experience in Cardiology preferred. Must have completed accredited training program or completed CMC training programEXPERIENCERequired: Will be knowledgeable of all cardiac, and vascular procedures performed by the department.Special Skills and Abilities:Required: Works closely with all department personnel, clinical and non-clinical members of nursing staff, physicians and patients. Also works closely with Director and Chief Registered/Registry Eligible Cardiovascular Technologist to assure optimal patient careLICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTSRequired: Must possess current related health field license from the Texas Department of Health. Must be Registered or Registry eligible in Echocardiography and Registered in Vascular Technology as recognized by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
