Paul D. Camp Community College is a small 2-year college in Southeast Virginia. Campuses are located in Franklin and Suffolk. There also is a center in Smithfield. The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates In transfer and career/technical programs; credit and non-credit workforce services and training for businesses and industries; special interest classes for the community; and summer classes for youth through the Regional Workforce Development Center. A dual enrollment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available at the college as well.

The role involves updating enrollment and admissions forms, reviewing the domicile portion of admissions applications, processing enrollment requests, and working closely with the Nursing and Allied Health Department. The individual also assists with ensuring correct processing of dual enrollment students' information.

The role involves providing day and evening coverage in the College Registrar's office and Office of Admissions. The individual must use critical thinking and sound judgment to determine customers' needs and assist them in resolving issues such as multiple student ID numbers, mismatches, and domicile errors.

The individual also assists with preparing requisitions for graduation needs and other commencement duties 60 days prior to commencement. They collaborate with co-workers to ensure phone and front desk coverage in the Office of Admissions.

The role involves scanning documents using ImageNow, coding and filing confidential student records, reviewing and updating forms, supervising work study students, and performing other related duties as assigned by the College Registrar or Dean of Student Services.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

* Ability to prioritize work, multitask, manage time effectively, and complete projects precisely and professionally

* Ability to relate to prospective students with diverse backgrounds

* Ability to use sound judgment and critical thinking skills when determining students' needs

* Ability to troubleshoot any issues with student applications, domicile, and enrollment information

* Ability to perform active listening and demonstrate understanding of customer concerns

* Demonstrates a high level of integrity, professionalism, and organizational skills

* Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of PC-based software, including Microsoft Office Suite and office equipment

Skill in exceptional oral and written communication

Additional Considerations

Related experience in an office setting utilizing time management, verbal and written communication, and customer service skills. Proven use of organizational skills and being detailed-oriented. Display excellent leadership skills and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated proficiency using word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and email software. Demonstrate active listening to respond appropriately to internal and external customer concerns.
