Job Description:
The administrative official with principal responsibility for student registrations and records. Functions typically include registration, classroom scheduling, maintenance of student records, graduation clearance, enrollment services and related matters.
Frostburg State University, Division of Academic Affairs, seeks applications for a full-time, exempt Registrar to lead the Registrar's Office. Responsibilities: The Registrar ensures the accuracy, integrity, and security of university academic and residency student records. The Registrar monitors the certification of the institution's compliance with FERPA. The Registrar guarantees accuracy of the student information system (PeopleSoft) and that course and program attributes are reflected precisely on the official transcript. The Registrar performs analysis of the master course schedule and makes recommendations for efficiency. The Registrar implements optimal and appropriate course offerings in collaboration with the Provost and Dean's Office, and maintains proper software systems such as the College Scheduler to ensure efficient registration processes.
Monitors continuing student enrollment and works with appropriate offices to achieve and maintain university retention and enrollment goals. Provides projections regarding continuing student enrollment. Ensures institutional policies such as the credit hour policy are compliant with federal, state, and accreditation regulations.
The Registrar will create and maintain the catalog and the curriculum management system. The Registrar will work with the Office of the Provost to lead catalog generation and serve as the primary administrator for the KuaIi Catalog module during the evaluation cycle. The Registrar is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Academic Calendar. The Registrar participates in academic events related to registration and coordinates graduation (end of term). Oversees transfer credit and articulation processes including ARTSYS.
The Registrar will train appropriate staff to facilitate the work of enrolling all students including students from international partnerships and other MOUs including dual enrollment.
The Registrar serves on the various academic committees and the Athletics Compliance Oversight Committee and performs job duties with an understanding and application of Frostburg State University, Conference Affiliates, and NCAA policies. Reports any suspected minor or major violations by the Athletic Department, students, and staff.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree with 4 to 6 years of demonstrated progressive experience as a Registrar or in an Office of the Registrar. Experience with Student Information Systems such as PeopleSoft. Experience with data analytic tools such as HelioCampus. Experience with technologies that enhance student services and success. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Dedication ot the work of diversity and inclusion. Experience in preparing analytical and technical reports. Experience with maintaining a departmental budget. Experience leading a team of professionals. Knowledge of trends and best practices in student success and academic advising. Sound problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in role of Registrar.
