JOB SUMMARY

Perform data entry, verify information, and handle requests for student records and related information. Provide advice and guidance to faculty, staff, and students regarding the registration process while adhering to academic policies as stated in the University Catalog. Resolve routine customer service issues regarding student academic records.

Essential Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities

The following duties are not to be considered a complete list of duties and responsibilities assigned to this position.

* Maintain accurate records in the student information system

* Facilitate registration forms and processes including: adds/drops, holds, registration exceptions, requisite waivers, audits, alumni audits, grade forgiveness, S/U, workshop registrations, change of address, returning students, petitions to withdraw, & overloads

* Oversee grade collection, process grade changes, oversee unresolved grades, and run

Dean's List

* Record credit for: College Level Examination (CLEP), Advanced Placement (AP), &

Advanced (A/AS) Level Examinations.

* Record equivalency credit for prior learning, or other miscellaneous non-course equivalent credit

* Process requests for withdrawal or leave of absence from the university

* Provide office operational support

* Monitor office email inbox to disperse or resolve inquiries

* Assist with bursar backdates and collection of attendance information

* Adhere to privacy laws (FERPA) and university policies

* Customer service

* Answer office related questions, provide policy guidance, or advice to students, faculty, staff, and parents

* Primary handoff contact for the One Stop regarding academic issues directly related to our area

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Required

* Bachelor's degree and experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE

Required

* Detail oriented and possess excellent verbal, written, and communication skills

* Excellent customer services skills

* Strong organizational skills for the performance of a variety of complex and confidential administrative duties

* Computer skills including familiarity and use of Microsoft Office tools

* Ability to work independently, exercise judgment and take initiative is critical as is the ability to work under pressure

* Must be able to work in a team environment and be willing to contribute beyond the job description toward achieving the office goal of successfully servicing students.

Preferred

* Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague student information system

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

* Must be able to operate standard office equipment

* May require long periods of sitting or standing to perform necessary tasks

* Must have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing data; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
