DescriptionThe Nursing Assistant functions as an assistant to the licensed Nurse. The Nursing Assistant does many routine tasks, leaving the licensed nurse to focus on the professional and/or technical aspects of patient care. The Nursing Assistant follows the Steele Memorial Medical Center and Nursing policies and procedures.Makes and schedules patient appointments in a timely manner.Greets, checks in, and directs patients upon arrival to the Clinic; answers and routes telephone calls, appropriately using good telephone etiquette; registers patients in the out-patient specialty areas; performs cashiering duties; tracks patient encounters, cancellations and no-show appointments. Correctly input and update patient information as required. Assists with different duties as assigned and must be willing to work a flexible schedule. Works the referral work que and schedules patients that are approved.RequirementsGraduate of an approved Nursing Assistant program.
