Regulatory Compliance Manager - Chemical Manufacturing

This position is the site regulatory expertise utilized by various functions to ensure the site activities are in alignment with regulatory requirements. Establishes standards and approves site-level policy documentation by partnering across company functions to collaborate effectively as a resource to other colleagues. Consulting with departments and management regarding legal and regulatory compliance areas that are important for this business to be successful.

What you'll be doing:
- Information exchange and close cooperation with our Corporate Function Product Stewardship and Commercial Divisions
- Coordination of consultants, regarding registrations in the North American area (EPA, FDA)
- Supports product labeling programs and raw material import/introduction programs
- Provides regulatory and technical advice to Technical, Sales, and Marketing for complex local, national, and EPA/FDA regulatory and scientific matters
- Assist with special regulatory issues that may have internal/external impact
- Assist with identifying emerging issues (such as regulation changes, chemicals deselection, etc.) in the North American area and communicate them to the corporate function of Product Stewardship
- Coordinate and manage projects as necessary with outside consultants, laboratories, and outside legal counsel
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies as appropriate (API Registration, FSMA/FSVP biennial registration and annual statements)
- Review requirements and/or provide documentation for EPA, DOT, REACH/ECHA, or other regulatory agencies
- Coordinate with EHS for environmental Permitting and Compliance (Ohio EPA yearly reporting, TSCA requirements, PMNs)
- Audits – internal ISO audits and 3rd party facility audits when needed
- Conduct local site facility inspections against ISO/FDA/EPA/GMP/FSMA/FSVP
- Responsible for managing/conducting internal ISO audits
- Coordinate with EHS on security requirements for chemical manufacturing facilities
- Support for interpretation of safety data sheets and technical data sheets
- Knowledge of Global Harmonization Standards
- Support for Sustainability activities (CO2 footprint, Ecovadis)
- Responses for customer quality, regulatory questionnaires, and agreements
Who we're looking for:
- Excellent autonomous working ability
- Regulatory background with specific experience in EPA, FDA, and ISO 9001 (Not looking for Quality Manager backgrounds)
- ISO 9001: 2015 Certifícate, FDA Certifícate (PCQI, HAACP) preferred
- 4+ years preferred to focus on: EPA, FDA, and OSHA Regulations
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, food safety, toxicology, industrial hygiene or other related scientific discipline required
- 2+ years of product safety, stewardship, and quality experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience in chemical manufacturing and import requirements as regulated by
- US EPA's Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) strongly preferred
- Expertise in the area of food, food additives, and food packaging regulations is preferred
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to work effectively with others
- HACCP principles, Preventive Controls, Integrated Sanitation and Pest Prevention Management, Environmental Monitoring Program Management, GMP, and Personnel Hygiene
- Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills
