THE POSITION
The Department of State's Bureau of Enforcement and Investigation is seeking a highly dedicated person to uphold the standards of various professions. A regulatory enforcement inspector ensures a high standard of regulated business by performing detailed inspections throughout the Pittsburgh region. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
A regulatory enforcement inspector is a highly rewarding position that ensures public health and safety through field inspection work to determine compliance with laws, rules, and regulations regarding professional and occupational licensing and other areas. The primary focus of the position is the physical inspection of barber shops, cosmetology salons, real estate offices, and vehicle dealerships. As an inspector, you will issue citations when appropriate violations are found and also provide limited investigative support activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
+ This position is headquartered in Pittsburgh (Allegheny County); however, the majority of this position will be field work in, but not limited to, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Crawford , Elk, Erie, Forrest, Jefferson, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Venango, and Warren counties. This position travels to various sites in a geographic area of the state to conduct periodic inspections of all affected professions and occupations, by observation and interviews, noting any deviation from established standards, and preparing reports to communicate findings.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Three years of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts; or
+ An Associate's Degree and one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts; or
+ Any equivalent combination of experience and training which included one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts.
Other Requirements:
+ This particular position also requires a driver's license which is not under suspension.
