RoleThis position is based in our New York City office. You'll join our legal team of 6 lawyers as Regulatory / Product Legal Counsel reporting to the Head of Legal. You will play a key role in new product launches, expansion into new markets, and ongoing regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Advise on, develop and maintain Taptap Send's regulatory framework and support the company in its strategic expansion initiatives.
• Lead on the legal and regulatory aspects of new product launches and expansion into new markets (including licensing applications if needed).
• Work cross-functionally with product, compliance, finance, and infosec teams to tackle complex regulatory challenges and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Collaborate with the legal team to evaluate and communicate risks and develop solutions to bridge business priorities.
• Proactively identify risks and collaborate with stakeholders to develop actionable solutions regarding regulatory or licensing matters.
• Lead or assist with any regulatory audits or examinations.

Requirements

• You are a qualified lawyer with ~4-8 years of practicing experience.
• You have worked in a law firm and in-house, gaining relevant fintech experience (ideally in a startup/scale-up).
• You understand and can navigate the regulatory frameworks governing financial products and services.
• You have experience advising the business on product strategy and new product or market launches.
• You have managed licensing applications and advised on regulatory compliance matters.
