This position is remote. If you are located within 50-miles of one of our corporate offices, you will be required to be in-office 5-days per week.

Reporting to the Manager, Regulatory Crop Protection & Adjuvant, the Regulatory Specialist - Crop Protection is responsible for supporting and managing regulatory submissions and compliance activities for the registration and maintenance of Nutrien's proprietary pesticide products in North America. This includes interactions with the Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The role requires a robust understanding of crop protection regulatory requirements in either Canada or the USA, as well as the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.

This position will be posted from December 2, 2024 - December 16, 2024.

What you will do:

* Manage regulatory submissions for the registration and renewal of crop protection products with PMRA/EPA, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Research & Development, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Legal, to establish regulatory strategies that align with business goals, product development plans, and market expansion objectives.

* Maintain and track product registration status, renewal times, submission statuses, and compliance activities.

* Own the review and approval of product labels to ensure compliance with Federal and/or State/Province-specific regulations.

* Coordinate regulatory activities with third parties, including research permits, and the arrangement and monitoring of laboratory and field studies.

* Monitor regulatory changes related to crop protection regulations in Canada and the USA, assess their impact, and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.

* Provide regulatory guidance and support to internal teams including product development, manufacturing, marketing, and others.

* Develop and improve internal regulatory processes, workflows, and documentation to streamline operations and ensure efficient compliance. Participate in activities such as external audits, regulatory inspections, or product recalls.

* Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other relevant stakeholders. Work with federal agencies to resolve technical or other regulatory/registration issues.

* Conduct training sessions and provide guidance to internal teams on regulatory requirements, policies, and best practices to foster a culture of compliance.

* Lead and perform work in alignment with Nutrien's corporate policies, programs, and SH&E regulations to bring our Culture of Care to life.

What you will bring:

* Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (chemistry or biology preferred, or a related field such as environmental engineering, entomology, agronomy, biological sciences, agriculture). Postgraduate degrees are an asset. Experience in lieu of education may be considered.

* 2+ years of experience in regulatory affairs or other relevant technical roles in the agriculture industry (e.g., R&D, production, field trials).

* Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

* Commitment to accuracy and compliance.

* Ability to present complex regulatory information clearly.

* Strong understanding of crop protection product registrations in Canada or the USA, or a strong technical background in fields like chemistry, biology, environmental science, or plant physiology.

* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex regulatory issues and provide practical solutions.

* Willingness to learn, teach, and share information within the team.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office, regulatory software, and databases.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range $59,300 - $110,200/annually (United States) or $75,200 - $139,500/annually (Canada). These ranges are estimated for a Regulatory Specialist - Crop Protection in the United States or Canada. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
