POSITION SUMMARY To support the area secretary in coordination of administrative and office operations of Rehabilitation Services as well as to support Rehabilitation Therapists in delivery of direct patient care.POSITION REQUIREMENTS Formal Education / Training: High school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated accuracy in written and oral communication in English. BLS is required within 90 days of hire. Workplace Experience: Patient Care Delivery. Secretarial/clerical healthcare experience. Equipment and Skills Training: Strong, positive interpersonal skills. Network computer system; fax; copy machine; telephone system, and printer. Able to follow written and verbal direction accurately. Ability to balance competing demands. Physical Environment: Rehabilitation Services Department; patient care floors. Physical Effort: Prolonged sitting, standing, bending, walking. Occasionally lifts supplies and equipment from locations above shoulder level and/or below knee level. Periodically provides assistance lifting patients.PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Provides positive and professional interactions with patients, visitors, and callers. Provides friendly, accurate directions; takes accurate and timely telephone messages. Provides clerical support to Rehabilitation Services as directed. Supports Secretary in fulfillment of his/her duties. Assumes secretarial role in absence of Secretary or as directed. Orders supplies and equipment as directed. Enters maintenance requests as needed and/or as requested. Participates in maintenance and upkeep of departmental cleaning logs, safety inspections, the WMC safety manual, Materials Management order records, and maintenance order records. Cleans, organizes, and maintains departmental equipment, supplies, treatment areas, and storage areas. Maintains department's linen supplies. Maintains work areas and personal appearance in a way that reflects professionalism, orderliness, cleanliness, and safety. Participates in the orientation and skill development of new team members. Supports Rehabilitation Therapists in providing safe and effective patient care in delivery of therapeutic interventions. Participates in activities that improve department effectiveness, processes, communication, and/or image in the organization. Demonstrates responsibility for assigned communications. Maintains position specific qualifications. Manages time effectively.
