Together, we keep getting better - advancing our mission to transform healthcare and serve as a leader of positive change.Under the direction and immediate supervision of therapists, assists in patient care related activities and performs routine department clerical tasks such as answering telephones, charge entry, photocopying, maintaining inventory of supplies, completion of census sheets, etc.**Responsibilities**A day in the life of a Rehabilitation Aide at Hackensack Meridian _Health_ includes:1. Prepares patients and equipment: Patients flow into the appropriate treatment areas in an orderly and timely fashion.2. Develops a rapport and mutual respect with the patient to assist in fostering an optimum environment for goal achievement.3. Whirlpools are prepared and cleaned according to established departmental policies, as directed by the therapist.4. Provides for and maintains an orderly, clean and well-prepared department. Distributes linen and supplies, handles laundry, and puts away equipment after use and performs cleaning and maintenance of equipment according to departmental policies.5. Assists in the delivery of care.6. Models and maintains a safe environment in which to deliver services and employs correct body mechanics during activities.7. Monitors an established exercise program and ambulates patients safely under the supervision of a professional.8. Assistance in performing activities of daily living, as needed, is provided to all patients in a safe, courteous and timely manner.9. Notifies Supervisor of unsafe conditions and handles emergency situations in an appropriate manner.10. Patients are properly oriented to the exercise equipment and all pertinent questions are answered and/or referred to the appropriate therapist.11. Provides phone support, relays messages to the appropriate party, take messages as needed.12. Provides clerical support as needed, enters charges, makes copies, files, sorts mail, completes census sheets, and schedules patients/clients.13. Maintains all supplies and equipment, including tracking inventory and ordering supplies and/or notifying appropriate staff to order supplies.14. Additional duties as assigned.**Qualifications**Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:1. High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.2. Post H.S. study in health/fitness related field.Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:1. Experience with adult fitness populations or Rehab environment preferred2. BilingualLicenses and Certifications Required:1.
