If that sounds like an organization you want to be a part of, we would love to have you.ROLE OVERVIEW and PURPOSEThe Rehabilitation Aide will assist physical and occupational therapists to provide rehabilitative services to participants. This role will provide participants with information and upcoming schedules for their appointments.RESPONSIBILITIES* Assists in scheduling, transporting, transferring, and lifting patients as required for rehabilitation services* Documents and communicates scheduling conflicts with participants* Distributes schedules and other information to appropriate facility members, as directed* Conducts maintenance program with patients to maintain their functional status* Assists the physical therapist (PT) and PT assistant with treatment, including ambulation, ROM and hot/cold packs* Assists the occupational therapist (OT) and OT assistant with treatment, including activities for daily living (ADL) and feeding programs* Assists the speech-language pathologist with treatment, including feeding groups, functional maintenance, and memory books* Maintain rehabilitative equipment, as needed* Maintains general upkeep of therapy areas, including set-up and clean-up of rehabilitation area and supplies* Remains updated on medical and physical statuses for participants* Attends in-services and staff meetings, as directedEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE* High school/GED required* Valid BLS certification required upon hire* One year experience working with elderly and frail populations required* Experience in rehabilitation setting preferredADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skills* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form* Knowledgeable about and experience with working with elderly and frail populations* Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously* Excellent planning and organizational ability* Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently* Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical mannerPhysical Requirements* Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs/weight* Ability to stand for long periods of timeNeighborhood Healthcare offers a generous benefit plan that includes: Partially company paid Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans.
