Job Duties
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services' (DBHDS) Office of Cost Accounting and Reimbursement is seeking a highly motivated individual for the Reimbursement Tech II position in the Reimbursement Office at Catawba Hospital in Catawba, VA. This position performs numerous duties associated with the reimbursement process for clients admitted to Catawba. Additional duties include maximizing revenue generated from charges/cost for clients receiving inpatient services for the above facility; collecting and analyzing financial information to determine and evaluate a client's and/or responsible party's ability to pay in accordance with Virginia State Code; assisting clients, responsible parties, and facility staff on reimbursement matters; processing Federal Benefits; and managing past due accounts to include legal actions and Debt Set Off.
Minimum Qualifications
* Knowledge and/or experience with medical billing.
* Knowledge of State and Federal collections laws.
* Considerable knowledge of State and Federal Entitlements programs.
* Extensive mathematical and analytical skills.
* Experience with Microsoft Office, with a concentration in Word and Excel.
* Experience with automated patient accounts receivable systems.
* Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as exceptional customer service skills with internal and external customers.
* Ability to work both as an acting and contributing team member and independently.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
* Ability to organize/prioritize workload to complete duties within specified timeframes.
* Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changes in work priorities.
