Job Description:This position is responsible for maintaining account ledgers. Knowledge of statutory insurance reporting requirements is essential, as insurance financial reporting is highly regulated.Responsibilities:
  • Review premium and loss bordereaux reports received from program partners.
  • Compare program partnersubmissions with data warehouse entries.
  • Prepare direct and ceded ledger entries.
  • Review loss escrow balances and request replenishments as needed.
  • Reconcile insurance balances for both direct and ceded activity.
  • Prepare reinsurance statements and follow up with brokers.
  • Research disputed account balances and work closely with customers and internal team to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Track premiums receivable by program manager.
  • Participate in internal and external audits.
  • Support month-end closing processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven organizational and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with theability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratiosand proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to interacteffectively and courteously with clients and colleagues, exercisingdiscretion and confidentiality
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or economics (4-year college degree)
  • 5+ years of reinsurance or insurance, including3+ years of accounting within the insurance/reinsurance industry
  • Insurance accounting experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of SAP ledger system (preferred)
