Job Description:This position is responsible for maintaining account ledgers. Knowledge of statutory insurance reporting requirements is essential, as insurance financial reporting is highly regulated.Responsibilities:
- Review premium and loss bordereaux reports received from program partners.
- Compare program partnersubmissions with data warehouse entries.
- Prepare direct and ceded ledger entries.
- Review loss escrow balances and request replenishments as needed.
- Reconcile insurance balances for both direct and ceded activity.
- Prepare reinsurance statements and follow up with brokers.
- Research disputed account balances and work closely with customers and internal team to resolve any discrepancies.
- Track premiums receivable by program manager.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Support month-end closing processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven organizational and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with theability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratiosand proportions to practical situations
- Ability to interacteffectively and courteously with clients and colleagues, exercisingdiscretion and confidentiality
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or economics (4-year college degree)
- 5+ years of reinsurance or insurance, including3+ years of accounting within the insurance/reinsurance industry
- Insurance accounting experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of SAP ledger system (preferred)
