Program Overview Noble is committed to investing in and developing educators who want to enter a career teaching the hardest-to-staff content areas: special education, high school math, and high school science. In our Teacher Residency program, Noble partners with Relay Graduate School of Education to offer the opportunity to earn an Illinois teaching license and complete a master's degree in two years while you work alongside expert teachers at a Noble school. This program is thoughtfully designed to provide extra support to develop your teaching skills. Below are common responsibilities our residents have in their first year of the program:
- Pulling students to pre-teach or remediate critical concepts
- Teaching subject-specific intervention or support blocks
- Substitute teaching on a limited basis
- Providing organizational support by organizing materials or assessments
With demonstrated readiness, you'll assume increased teaching responsibility during your second year. Upon completion of the program you will graduate with a Master's degree and an Illinois teaching license! Program Requirements •A Bachelor's degree or Expected Bachelor's degree by June 2025 •A minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of a 2.5 •No holds on official transcripts •Pass required state certification exams •Ability to attend a mandatory summer term •Admittance and enrollment into Relay Graduate School of Education •No current Illinois teaching license •Eligibility to work in the United States on a full-time basis Program Benefits
- Salary and option to enroll in benefits while enrolled in an accredited graduate program
- Year 1: Resident Teacher - $45,000
- Year 2: Lead Teacher - $62,000
- Noble provides tuition assistance both years of the program
- Full reimbursement of certification exam and license registration costs
- Guidance in the application and testing process
- A designated Resident Advisor that serves as a formal mentor at your school
- Upon successful program completion, earn a Master's degree and Illinois teaching license from an accredited national nonprofit institution of higher education
