Safran Aircraft Engines designs, produces, and sells, alone or in partnership, commercial and military aircraft engines offering world-class performance. Safran Aerospace Composites in Rochester, NH is dedicated to the production of 3D woven composite parts, made using the RTM (resin transfer molding) process. This position plays a crucial role in the development of Safran Aerospace Composites. Uniting the Engineering and Maintenance teams, the Maintenance Reliability Engineer is responsible for examining, formally defining and standardizing Maintenance practices and processes for production equipment and facility equipment. This will include routine maintenance and servicing, troubleshooting and repairs, and monitoring and installation of industrial equipment. This position brings uses and engineering approach to maintenance practices by proposing improvements to preventive maintenance plans, contributing to the objective of reducing the overall cost of industrial maintenance, and creating KPI's and tools to improve through the use of predictive maintenance.
**Complementary Description**
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
- In conjunction with Maintenance Management, Site Manufacturing Engineering and Machine Manufacturers, define a comprehensive maintenance plan to include regular maintenance and preventive maintenance. Document and keep up-to-date the technical referential on critical site equipment (HVAC system, for example).
- Define and implement a Machine Performance Survey to complement the preventative maintenance plan (PMP).
- Define and monitor MTBF/MTTR/TRS/TRG for all machines.
- Record and analyze event history records to monitor the efficiency of the PMP. Utilize adequate event analysis tools such as 5 Whys, 8Ds, and FMEAs in coordination with the Maintenance Manager.
- Analyze risks related to production means (FMEA) and propose adequate mitigation tasks.
- Work with Engineering to design or redesign systems to increase maintainability: hydraulics, boilers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CNC machining centers, dust collection systems, filtration systems, scrubbing systems, waste water treatment systems, etc.
- Manage large-scale projects in conjunction with Engineering departments, Maintenance, and Operations; including but not limited to significant equipment repairs, equipment modifications, temporary installations, and equipment cleanings.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Administration to establish spare parts requirements and inventory.

**Job Requirements**
Job Specifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering field required.
- 10+ years experience in a manufacturing setting required; preference given to aerospace, automotive or maritime industries.
- Understanding of Engineering Drawings, machine schematics, preventative maintenance plans
- Self-starter with the ability to deal with ambiguity and work independently with limited direction
- Requires a strict attention to detail and strong project management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to quickly develop an understanding of the current master data environment (including systems, policies, processes, and procedures)
- Understanding of LEAN manufacturing concepts and/or 6 Sigma techniques preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Knowledge of and compliance with AS9100C or ISO9001 standards
- Ability to travel within the US and internationally (not to exceed 10%).
Working Conditions
- Lighting and temperature are adequate.
- Majority of time to be spent on the production floor working with equipment, processes and manufacturing personnel
- Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms
- Protective footwear must be worn in manufacturing areas, approximately 90% of a standard work day
- Protective eyewear must be worn in manufacturing areas, approximately 80% of a standard work day
