TAMKO Building Products LLC is seeking a Reliability Engineer at its manufacturing facility in Frederick, Maryland. The Reliability Engineer will lead projects specifically intended to drive reliability improvements into the manufacturing processes. Key areas of responsibility include the Predictive and Preventive Maintenance Programs, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), equipment design analysis, and Root Cause Analysis activities at the plant level. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Evaluate equipment failure modes and utilize engineering experience and training to scope, propose, plan, and execute solutions for eliminating/mitigating potential failure to improve mean time between failure • Advise and confer with engineers in design review meetings to give reliability findings and recommendations • Review engineering specifications/drawings and propose design modifications to improve reliability within cost and other performance requirements • Monitor equipment performance and evaluate equipment history and failure trends to determine sources of poor component performance • Partner with other manufacturing locations to develop Reliability Best Practices and to collaboratively work through common issues • Define Condition Monitoring Inspection Requirements and support the Predictive Maintenance Program • Manage the continuous improvement, maintenance, and execution of the Fixed Time Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance programs • Participate in the continuous improvement of the maintenance department training program • Assist in analyzing costs and provide recommendations to reduce maintenance costs • Support the plant-wide lubrication program and work to continuously improve the program by implementing industry best practices • Provide input and guidance to other engineers, technicians, and plant personnel on critical Reliability Principles, Predictive and Preventive Maintenance Strategies, and Operating Principles of common rotating equipment • Identify, Plan, and Execute component-level Reliability Improvement Projects as necessary to incrementally improve plant performance • Lead the plant team in conducting Root Cause Investigation for equipment failures and other events that meet trigger criteria • Lead plant-wide coordination of work activities during scheduled production line outages • Requirements • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent from four-year college in an Engineering Discipline • 3-5 years of Engineering Experience Required • Prior Reliability Engineering Experience is Strongly Preferred • Prior Manufacturing Experience is Strongly Preferred • Prior Experience Supervising/Managing direct-report employees is Preferred • Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, preventive and predictive maintenance technologies, and condition monitoring and fixed time maintenance strategies • Experience with Best Practice Maintenance Work Processes • Experience with Computer Automated Design (CAD) software required. Autodesk Inventor experience preferred. • Experience with specifying and analyzing mechanical drivetrain component selection for reliability and performance preferred • Knowledge of parts inventory management and mechanical and electrical equipment design reliability principles • Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control and Six Sigma methodology (DMAIC) - position will be targeted for formal training and certification • Advanced knowledge and experience working within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). SAP Experience is preferred.
