The Reliability Engineer will support the West TX operations by providing engineering support to the maintenance functions by identifying, analyzing and providing solutions to problem areas within the plants.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Identify and prioritize all failures
  • Analyze failures and identify root causes of failures for high priority/critical items.
  • Recommend appropriate actions to improve reliability
  • In conjunction with Planner, review and modify maintenance processes, procedures, servicing, inspection periodicities or applicability of equipment.
  • Initiate engineering action required to solve reliability problems.
  • Ensure root cause of failure information is recorded.
  • Support maintenance in problem solving immediate issues.
  • Produce change implementation schedules to improve reliability and ensure they are managed according to the agreed plan.
  • Supervise and coordinate labor, resources and budgets related to reliability improvement tasks.
  • Determine impact of reliability actions and assess financial, social, environmental and the commercial risk of alternate courses of action.
  • Update regularly the reliability management database and monthly reports.
  • Develop workable reliability solutions to complex and unique issues in an environment characterized by conflicting priorities and financial and resource constraints.
  • Develop potential reliability orientated solutions and suggest options to meet required changes in a complex and dynamic maintenance and operational environment.
  • Develop maintenance reliability and condition monitoring strategies across the site.
  • Ensure that equipment performance management processes, procedures and standards are used and improved upon.
  • Review cost drivers for the maintenance department to provide a disciplined process for cost reduction through the use of factual data. This should be used to justify improvement initiatives.
  • Supply monthly reports for the top six issues for the site – the report to include trend charts for availability, reliability, capability, quality and utilization as per the plant performance measurement process and KPI measurement process.
  • Provide written technical reports on key production loss drivers to the company as highlighted from monthly reports (Pareto Analysis)
  • Manage the continuous improvement of the process's procedures and standards (change control) to ensure they are functional and consistent with the site needs.
  • Provide assistance in the selection of stores holding levels for BOMS. Review and monitor maintenance engineering aspects of (EPCM) contractors' activities.
  • Within the maintenance and reliability engineering discipline ensure all company standards are met, and all work conforms to industry standards and statutes by:
  • Auditing for compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Perform or arrange for performance of compliance audits.
  • Assist in the design, planning, estimate and direct installation and commissioning of new or recommended plant changes to improve reliability.
  • Introduce reliability review of engineering designs and studies for new projects
  • Coordinate and review reliability designs and recommendations from consultants and manufacturers.
  • Review equipment selections for new projects in line with existing plant capability, reliability, availability, utilization and quality performance measurements history.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Mechanical preferred, other engineering degrees acceptable
  • 5+ years of reliability/maintenance experience in a 24/7/365 continuous processing environment.
  • Current and up to date on maintenance and reliability practices to include preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Precision maintenance.
  • Some project management.
  • General maintenance procedures and processes.
  • Workflow processes.
  • Microsoft Office.
  • Project management software.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Twice a month or more.
