Ministry ProfileReligious Education CoordinatorSt. Louis Parish, DyckesvilleAccountability: Directly to the PastorHours: part-time employee with an average of 15-20 hours per week for a 10-month period of time, which includes frequent evening and some weekend hours.Ministry Summary: The Religious Education Facilitator is responsible for implementing and overseeing preparation of students for First Communion and Reconciliation. This person will assist GIFT Nights and Youth Ministry events and recruit catechists and volunteersMinistry Qualifications:
Lives a full sacramental communion and upholds the teachings of the Catholic Church. Person of Prayer. Maintain professional appearance and attire. Strong background and knowledge of the Catholic Faith. Maintains confidentiality. Good Organizer. Is able to work well within a team setting and with other staff members. Is able to work well with youth and parents. Fulfills and meets the requirements of the Diocesan Safe Environment Program. Preferred be a member of St Louis Parish - DyckesvilleMinistry Responsibilities: Ongoing Development in the areas of Spiritual, Professional and Personal by pursuing continuing education opportunities in each area. Be present in the broader community to build relationships with parents and students. Communicate with the Pastoral Leader, staff and Faith Formation Committee about RE activities. Recruits, trains and supervises volunteers and catechists and maintains records for catechist certification. Oversees the planning and practices of Liturgies involving youth in grades 1 - 11. Helping with fundraising. Implements the Protecting God's Children Program for grades 1 - 11. Assists with Catechists in-services. Implements and oversees preparation of students for First Communion and Reconciliation. Assists with Youth Ministry events. Assists with service opportunities for youth. Cooperates with parish secretary and parishioner groups in the use of parish facilities. Makes sure that the emergency plan is communicated to catechists.
