We care and make a positive difference.Summary:Under the supervision of the Facilities Services Manager, the incumbent completes daily work orders, receives incoming furniture and systems work stations, makes minor and major moves, maintains, repairs, dismantles and assembles furniture and systems work stations in Home Office and rented space in other buildings in a timely manner. Study new products introduced by outside vendors to determine if products are suitable to building standards and suitable for comfort and safety of end users. Ability to handle a fast paced, varied job. Experience in dealing with public required. Able to establish report and communicate effectively.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Surveys all relocation and event set-up jobs and lays out arrangement of furniture, seating, staging and systems work stations from scale drawings.Installs, disassembles and constructs systems work stations and other office furniture and equipment.Implements Event Setups per established standards and Event Sheet requirements as well as through furniture Facility Service Requests for events.Provide technical support and advice for alternate solutions for Workplace Solutions and Event Planners and other business partners.Capable of reading and interpreting blueprint drawings and CAD prints. Ability to learn and keep informed on new furniture and systems enhancements as they are introduced and applied at NM. High degree of accuracy required determining safety of installation of furniture and systems work stations.Expected to meet business requirements as not to interfere with daily operations of other departments, and may occasionally have to work outside normally scheduled work hours to meet such requirements with relocations and event setups.Receives daily work requests for furniture systems work station repair and for event furniture setup requests. Assesses and takes necessary action to resolve customer request within department service levels.Delivers and collects moving crates in preparation and follow up to employee moves and produces and installs paper nametags for workspaces with moves and as otherwise required.Reconditions all furniture which includes the repair and replacement of parts, installation and repair of furniture locking mechanisms, and performing preventive maintenance to support furniture longevity.Moves light and heavy equipment and supplies other than furniture as well as move contents of shelving, file cabinets, bookcases and work stations, etc. to and from other buildings. When needed, drives rented trucks to move furniture and machines to and from other buildings.Engage with our sophisticated advisors focused on understanding the practice operations and advisor client engagement for increased adoption of all experiences.Qualifications:Candidates must successfully complete and pass any required testing. High school degree or equivalent. 1-3 years of furniture installer work experience required or equivalent position where mechanical aptitude has been demonstrated in the construction or furniture industry.Ability to accurately follow oral and written instructions. Strong customer focus, initiative, accuracy and problem-solving skills; effective organizational and communication skills along with the ability to work independently or as part of a team and to adapt to changing priorities and meet required timeframes; a proven track record of consistently good attendance.Proven mechanical aptitude required. Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic drawings, updating them as appropriate. Must possess a basic knowledge of relevant state and local building codes and industry standardsMust be able to perform the essential duties of the position. Able to lift up to 100 pounds and regularly lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Knowledge of work-related OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) regulations including MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets).Must have a working knowledge of the hardware and software components of a PC. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in common PC functions and applications, such as Archibus CMMS, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as Internet Explorer.
