Job Description:

An employer is looking for a Behavioral Health Care Advocate to join their team. This person will be responsible for guiding telephonic reviews, obtaining relevant clinical information from behavioral health providers, reviewing treatment plans, determining appropriate levels of care, and administering public behavioral health benefits. Additionally, this person will review written requests for authorizations submitted through a provider portal and oversee initial and continued stay requests for authorization to inpatient and outpatient psychiatric, chemical dependency, and dual diagnosis treatment services. - Direct practice experience in the Maryland Public Behavioral Health System - Knowledge of public resources throughout Maryland - Experience with Medicaid populations - Experience in treating people with Substance Use Disorders and/or those who are dually diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders - Managed Care experience and/or experience working in an environment that required coordinating benefits and utilizing multiple groups and resources for patients - Bilingual Spanish - Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Counseling; or Licensed Ph. D.; or Registered Nurse with Behavioral Health experience - Current, unrestricted license to practice behavioral health treatment in the state of Maryland ( LCPC, LCSW-C preferred) - 2+ years of experience in behavioral health providing appropriate level of care review and determination - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs (e. g., Word, Outlook, Excel)
