Currently hiring a fully remote Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineers for a remote opportunity, office is based out of New York City!Must be located in the tristate area - NJ, NY, or CT!Qualifications:Bachelors' Degree in Mechanical EngineeringExperience designing plumbing and fire protection systems for 7+ yearsPublic agency project experience preferredLocated in New Jersey, New York, and ConnecticutEIT/PE licensedResponsibilities:Under the supervision of the Design Standards Unit Manager and the Assistant Manager, the selected candidate (Plumbing/fire protection engineer) will be responsible for review fire protection, fire alarm, and plumbing design documents for tenant projects (TAA) and design audit, and project processing for Port Authority (PA) facilities to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and Port Authority technical standards.Specific responsibilities include: downloading the electronic TAA submissions, previewing construction documents, hydraulic calculations, specifications, and reports for completeness with codes and standards; coordinating the review comments from others technical disciplines and preparing memoranda for transmitting comments to the line departments; and attending meeting with tenant Architect/Engineer of Records to discuss the review comments and resolve the issues; assigning various technical disciplines for code review, and communicating with PA facilities to process TAA and design audit projects.About ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
