Job DescriptionDescriptionSAIC is seeking an experienced Remote Sensing Mission Engineer Lead, to support the Space Development Agency (SDA).Note: This role can be in Chantilly, VA; Huntsville, AL; Colorado Springs, CO; or El Segundo, CAAs the Remote Sensing Mission Engineer Lead you will bein a customer facing & working lead who interacts directly with SDA T3 leadership on all issues in their purview, assists with planning, resourcing and prioritization of tasks and efforts. Providing clear and effective communication of SDA Government personnel. You will also provide expert guidance, recommendations and technical leadership in the development, integration, and testing of interfaces for the Tracking Layer of SDA's PWSA.Responsibilities to include:* Guide engineering efforts for space-based sensing systems focused on detecting and tracking time-critical targets in support of missile defense initiatives.* Oversee the development and execution of engineering processes, including requirements engineering, verification, and validation to meet mission objectives.* Conduct latency analysis and optimize real-time transfer service (RTS) for missile detection and tracking systems.* Leverage expertise in advanced missile tracking technologies, including SBIRS, Next-Gen OPIR, HBTSS, or Missile Track Custody to enhance system performance.* Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICD) to ensure interoperability and compliance with established message formats and data standards.* Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and other government partners, to align system capabilities with mission needs.* Support the development of OPGA-79 and related operational standards to ensure successful mission execution.* Conduct trade studies and technical analyses to support decision-making and risk mitigation.* Oversee system testing and evaluation to ensure mission readiness and operational effectiveness.* Guide cross-functional teams, coordinating efforts among engineers, operators, and stakeholders.QualificationsRequired Education and Experience:* Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, etc.).* Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI Access.* 10 years of total professional experience and 5 years of experience in space-based missile warning, tracking, and defense systems and/or space-based sensing of time-critical targets focused on development, integration, and testing.* Proficiency in systems engineering processes, including requirements development, verification, validation, and system integration.* Strong analytical skills to perform trade studies and system evaluations.* Clear communicator with strong technical writing skillsSAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
