COMPENSATION: $60 per hourQUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Fluency in Spanish and English preferred
- Special Education K-12 PA certification
- Documented experience using data-driven instruction to achieve significant student gains
- Experience in an urban setting with high percentages of ELD and SPED students
- A passion for education and a belief that your zip code does not dictate your destiny
- Ability to reliably commute to the building.
- Current FBI fingerprints, PA Criminal, and Child Abuse background checks
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides direct and indirect instruction as needed individually, in small or whole groups in all curricular areas utilizing the approved curriculum map virtually.
- Manage identified students on caseload; provide interventions and progress monitoring
- Assist regular education teachers in the development of accommodations and modifications to the curriculum.
- Provide accommodations and modifications to the curriculum to meet the unique needs of each student
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and behavior
- Attend meetings and professional development sessions to stay current on best practices in special education
- Plan to address short and long-term individual needs of students.
- Evaluate student progress.
- Provide an inviting, innovative, and engaging learning environment.
- Develop digital curriculum for foundation-level courses in math and English language arts for middle and high school levels.
- Effectively consult and communicate with teachers, parents, and others to facilitate the IEP process.
- Manage a caseload, including writing/revising IEP and following a workflow to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate in grade-level teams to discuss student work, share best practices, and ensure student mastery of standards
- Form and maintain relationships with students' families, including phone calls and conferences

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working.
- Constant hand, finger, and arm use, and excellent eye-hand coordination.
- Ability to hear clearly and speak intelligibly.
- To occasionally function in activities involving walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing stairs.
- To occasionally stand for extended periods.
- Ability to see and perform visual activities such as closing paperwork, using a computer monitor, reading, and writing.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to come onsite for all required days - 30 days per school year.
