The Foreperson is responsible for the safety, quality, customer service, and productivity of each assigned solar installation project. The Foreperson is a working field position that leads a team of 2 to 3 members to successfully complete residential solar removals and reinstallations as well as any service work required.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the successful removal and reinstallation of residential solar projects including the installation of the electrical systems that interconnect the solar array to the grid power of the customer's residential propertyWhen assigned, safely lead or assist solar battery installationsOrganize, lead, and train crew members to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframesEnsure attention to detail with an emphasis on safety, quality, customer service, and productivityEffectively manage all aspects of the construction workflow of the project to drive productivityEnsure that there is adequate materials and equipment to safely and efficiently complete projectsEffectively maintain project documentation and photo requirementsDemonstrate knowledge of OSHA standards related to photovoltaic installations and enforce safety practices and standardsCheck on progress of installers every hour throughout the installation to ensure the installation process; Follow construction job flow proceduresDevelop a positive working dynamic within installation crew and branch co-workers; Analyze and resolve worker problems and recommend solutions; Maintain consistent and appropriate interface with customer throughout construction phaseAssist the crew on the roof as needed to ensure an efficient and high quality installationPerform weekly vehicle inspection for proper tire pressure, oil level, working lights, etc.Ensure accuracy of your own and crew's time sheetsProvide construct-ability feedback to managementMaintain excellent lines of communicationPerform service calls when necessary15% travel requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 3 years of construction experience, including 1 year of solar installation experiencePrior experience leading teams of 2-4 preferredExperience with electrical work involving wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VACAbility to perform all installation duties of the Installer and Lead InstallerMust maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check. Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's licenseHave CPR and First Aid Certifications up to date and keep maintained for purposes of continued employment (class costs are reimbursable by the company)Electrical/PV Installation Knowledge: Working knowledge of current NEC codes. Ability to interpret single line drawings and PV systems from roof to meter. Demonstrates knowledge of electrical principles as it pertains to solar interconnection/tie-in and code and how PV systems operate. Understands interconnection activities. Understands basic construction principlesSafety: Adheres to company safety policies and procedures including ability to identify and report safety hazards, and the ability to encourage others to work safelyCustomer Service: Ability to establish rapport, build relationships and loyalty with external and internal customers and coworkers, and remains tactful when communicatingResults Driven: Proven ability to meet deadlines and key metrics. Works independently, as a team player, and drives results in a fast paced, team based environment. Must be willing to assist teammates and build strong relationships to achieve company and department goalsProblem Solving: Solid logical decision making and troubleshooting skills with the ability to problem solve in a timely and effective mannerExercises good judgment. Knows when to involve supervisorsPhysical DemandsAbility to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance)Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balanceAbility to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces which requires kneeling and crouchingAbility to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to: excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidityAbility to frequently utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills including but not limited to: fine manipulation, grasping, and pinchingAbility to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses and other personal protective equipmentAbility to work while wearing heavy protective equipment such as arc flash suits, gloves, and face shieldsAbility to work and maintain balance on roofs and other areas of heightAbility to work in the sun and possibly low light conditionsAbility to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without damageAbility to distinguish colors such as red, black, yellow, white, greenAbility to hear verbal commands and warningsAbility to work with chemicals using appropriate protection#J-18808-Ljbffr
