Provide solutions that ensure profitability through total customer satisfaction as defined by the customer. Manages the day-to-day rental service operations at the local level (service support team and technicians will report directly to this individual). Will be required to assemble and lead a high-performing, customer-focused team. Ensures that his/her people work as a team to provide a hassle-free experience for our customers. Effectively drives change within his/her organization to insure one consistent way of doing business with other Equipment Depot locations. Achieves business objectives (as measured by Key Performance Indicators) by improving the skills and professionalism within our service operation.   • Overall responsibility for the day to day management of the rental department.
  • Supervise rental coordinator(s), technician(s), yard coordinator(s), and porter(s).
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for Rental Operations, to include: checking in and checking out all equipment, customer files and daily yard checks.
  • Works with the Director of Contractor Services and the sales managers to help establish special contractor rental rates in respective territories.
  • Works with Sales Coordinator to complete warranty registration paperwork for new equipment.
  • Assists Sales Managers with rental quotes.
  • Coordinates with Sales managers on delivery of new equipment to customer to ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
  • Works with his/her Operations Manager to develop and implement short- and long-term strategic plans, objectives and goals for each location under his/her responsibility, along with a plan of action about how to achieve them.
  • Assists in the recruiting and development of his/her rental organization including training assessments of rental support team.
  • Present and maintain professional image/manner in performing role.
  • Maintain accurate billing of all short-term rental contracts; assist in collections of past due invoices.
  • Coordinate equipment movement among branches with other transportation/rental coordinators.
  • Assists Sales Managers / General Managers to drive Rental Sales and profitability.
  • Problem solves or refer customers to someone who can meet their needs.
  • Plans daily logistics schedule to ensure maximum efficiency and timely delivery of rental equipment.
  • Monitor fuel consumption to ensure maximum fuel expense recovery from the end-user.
  • Reviews delivery routes, schedules, and time requirements to ensure maximum logistics cost recovery.
  • Ensure delivery equipment is inspected and maintained in accordance to DOT requirements and/or regulations.
  • Be accountable and provide helpful feedback/suggestion to control rental maintenance expenses.
  • Ensures rental equipment is prepared and maintained in the most cost-effective manner possible.
  • Review and approve service work orders for accuracy and efficiency, cross-check that warranty is filed.
  • Maintain accurate records and files.
  • Communicate essential information to customers, other departments and managers.
  • Monitor and communicate on market, utilization & trends in assigned region and competitor trends to management.
  • Help establish competitive rental rates in the assigned area.
  • Continuously improve knowledge and skills; Look for change in processes and seek new innovations in products and services.
  • Maintain acceptable personal and work area standards for safety, appearance, and equipment condition.
  • Assist General Manager in Building Maintenance.
  • Communicates and promotes the Equipment Depot vision and mission within their team.
  • Is a positive role model. Inspires and motivates others to perform at a higher level. Treats others with respect.
  • Ensures that his/her team performs with a positive attitude and a great sense of urgency in order to exceed customer expectations. Will earn the trust and respect of people both within and outside his/her organization.
  • Ensures that service KPIs (relating to efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction) are consistently met.
  • Will be required to handle disciplinary issues involving personnel if/when they occur.
  • Handles customer requests, concerns, and complaints in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Completes performance reviews as/when required for everyone within his/her organization.
  • Works with his/her General Manager to identify trends within the organization or business environment and develop plans to address.
  • Wage administration for direct reports.
  • Provides feedback/recognition for reports in job functions.
  • Compare actual financial results weekly to the Business Plan and initiate corrective action as needed to insure goals are accomplished.
  • Assist in collections of past due invoices as needed.
  • Safeguard company assets by maintaining strong internal controls.

QualificationsSKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Education: BS degree in industrial engineering, industrial distribution, or logistics preferred, but not required.
  • Experience: 3 - 5+ year's proven sales professional preferred
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge and abilities of Microsoft Office products. CAD experience required
  • Other Requirements:
    • 20-30%% travel required, Successful history of performing logistics and distribution engineering projects, Broad Supply Chain and Logistics knowledge a plus.
