Job Description:
SUMMARY:The Repair Technician is responsible for repairing electronic equipment found in proprietary hardware used in the pari-mutual industry. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a team setting in a warehouse using various electronic diagnostic tools.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Troubleshoots and repairs general machine malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs component level, complex electronic or electro- mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies and total systems in propriatery pari-mutuel hardware.
  • Troubleshoots down to a component level, and replaces faulty components, to include but not limited to resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, inductors, diodes, and crystal oscillators.
  • Utilizes Volt, Ohm, Amp meters, soldering equipment and oscilloscopes to diagnose and repair proprietary hardware.
  • Assembles cables and sub-assemblies.
  • Uses computer diagnostic programs to test equipment.
  • Performs product quality analysis to determine acceptability of products.
  • Evaluates failures and malfunctions for design weakness and recommends design changes to improve quality.
  • Recommends and carries out modifications to test procedures and techniques to enhance efficiency.
  • Prepares and maintains appropriate paperwork, extensive records and reports on test results and repair actions for future analysis.
  • Programs computers with small diagnostic routines to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Will participate and support various special events as business dictates.
  • Local or in-state travel may be required - 5%
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience preferred.
  • Associate's Degree, Electronic Technician Certificate or combination of equivalent technical education preferred.
  • Ability to perform each duty listed under essential functions in a satisfactory manner.
  • Working knowledge of computers, printers and Microsoft Office programs preferred.
  • Experience repairing Point-of-Sale equipment preferred.
  • Pari-mutuel industry experience, interest and/or knowledge preferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime, with occasional weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to apply and maintain any required regulatory license(s)

  • This position requires working effectively as part of a team and concentrating on various details when faced with interruptions and changing work priorities.
