Job Summary
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is seeking a new Research Administration & Operations Director. This major responsibilities of the position will include:
* Provide Strategic Leadership of Research Personnel within the department
* Oversee grants/ budgets of research projects within the department
* Provide leadership and oversight of new study start-up
* Expert resource for matters pertaining to scientific concepts and research design
* Provide oversight and allocate resources for clinical study operations
This position will manage many defined areas of work to ensure that departmental goals are met. These responsibilities cover each of the Department's primary missions of patient care, education, and research. In addition, this leadership role helps to maintain UK Obstetrics & Gynecology's values by creating a culture of professionalism, an effective learning environment for all, and a commitment to inclusivity.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Comprehensive understanding of related scientific terminology, grants management activities, and fiscal management. Ability to independently identify and problem-solve complex/non-routine problems. Program administration experience including strategic planning, infrastructure building, project management, and database creation/management. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, strong oral/written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrate organizational leadership, personnel management, task prioritization, and presentation skills. Computer and web-based application proficiency to include designing forms and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office applications.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? Yes Preferred Education/Experience
Master's degree and at least 8 years research experience. Management experience highly preferred. Additionally, research certification (SOCRA, ACRP, etc.) also preferred.
