Description

The Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, is seeking to hire a skilled Research Analyst. This role involves applying computational theory to practice with a strong understanding of diverse IT-related research applications. The incumbent will leverage principles of computational science, computer science, data science, and CI (cyberinfrastructure) software development, alongside domain-specific scientific knowledge and professional programming skills, to support various research projects. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing a range of computational, data science, and CI research tools, managing data, analyzing outcomes, and conducting research on current and emerging HPC (high-performance computing), data, and CI technologies, both hardware and software. The role also involves algorithm development, optimization, and advanced programming for scientific research.

Annual range: $92,600-$202,200

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer / Computational / Data Science, or Domain Sciences with computer / computational / data specialization or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of experience in computation science, data science, statistics, or related field, with computer, computational, and/or data management experience
• Intermediate knowledge of computational / data science / CI
• Advanced skills, and demonstrated experience associated with one or more of the following: computational hardware and software, performance analysis, research, design, implementation and deployment of computational or data science or CI applications and tools
• Demonstrated ability to regularly interface with management
• Demonstrated ability to contribute research and technical content to grant proposals
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non- technical personnel at various levels in the organization and to external research and education audiences
