Working together across time zones and borders, CASE staff in all offices seek to make the ambitious OneCASE aspiration a reality.Position PurposeThe Research Analyst works as part of CASE's data and research team, supporting CASE Insights - CASE's global resource for educational advancement-related metrics, benchmarks, and analytics. The Research Analyst will administer surveys, clean and analyze data, and create tables, charts, and infographics for CASE members, volunteers, and other stakeholders engaged in research initiatives. In FY25, CASE Insights will be utilizing data from a new survey and benchmarking platform for the first time. The Research Analyst will assist with testing of survey functionality, as well as data checking on migrated data to ensure accuracy of data for benchmarking and key findings reports. Research Analyst will work collaboratively on research initiatives with colleagues in CASE's global offices in Washington D.C., London, Mexico City, and Singapore. Limited conference travel may be required. Compensation: $70,000 - $78,000 depending on experience. CASE is eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) programEssential FunctionsThe core functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:Survey Development and Administration
  • Program and administer CASE research studies and benchmarking surveys using various survey instruments and research applications.
  • Ensure surveys are clear, concise, and designed to effectively capture relevant data.
  • Incorporate CASE Global Reporting Standards and updates into surveys to facilitate global data analysis and benchmarking.
  • Track survey participation, monitor survey responses, and provide support to CASE members participating in surveys to ensure data submitted is complete and accurate.
  • Collaborate with communications and marketing team to maintain survey websites and messaging to members regarding survey recruitment and published findings.
Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Clean and verify survey data and assemble tables, charts, and infographics for key findings reports.
  • Draft initial text for key findings reports and other research publications.
  • Help to prepare presentations for webinars and conferences.
Survey Platform Testing and Data Checking
  • Assist CASE Insights team with testing of survey functionality as surveys are migrated to the new survey platform.
  • Assist with data checking on migrated data to ensure accuracy of data for benchmarking and key findings reports.
General CASE Insights Support
  • Provide support to CASE members with other inquiries related to CASE Insights products and solutions.
  • Participate in conferences, webinars, and training programs to champion the work of CASE Insights.
Fiscal Management/Budget Responsibilities/Judicious Use of Resources
  • Exercises fiscal responsibility in the utilization of all CASE resources.
Liaison Responsibilities
  • Works cooperatively and diplomatically with all divisions and regions.
  • Liaises with CASE colleagues in other parts of the world to ensure the best sharing of ideas, expertise and knowledge.
  • Incorporates tasks and/or projects related to objectives as directed by the CASE Strategic Plan.
  • Work on global research initiatives and collaborate as needed with colleagues in CASE's London, Mexico City, and Singapore offices.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.JOB COMPLEXITY AND KNOWLEDGEThe Research Analyst receives direction from Senior Director, Research, and is expected to work independently. The position interacts with CASE staff from across the world, and may come into contact with senior volunteers, members and other high level external key stakeholders, so discretion, confidentiality, and diplomacy are expected. The Research Analyst will be responsible for his/her own time management and prioritization of tasks to ensure the key responsibilities are met. Problem Solving and JudgementHigh level judgement and problem-solving skills are required, as the incumbent is frequently faced with situations which require immediate action in response to issues and requests. The breadth and depth of understanding of an issue and the key internal/external persons handling the issue, and the way in which the issue is handled, all affect the outcome of the situation.Professional and Organizational Knowledge
  • The position requires that the incumbent quickly develop a deep understanding of CASE, its policies and procedures and an understanding of the culture and regional and divisional interdependencies.
  • The position requires a deep understanding and respect for the organization's systems and workflow.
Position RequirementsEducation and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in statistics, data science, computer science, information technology, library science, social science, economics, business administration, or related discipline preferred. At least two (2) to three (3) of experience in a research or project management position with experience in survey management, data analysis, report writing, is preferred as well as experience working in a professional environment with a focus on member/customer service. An interest in and an understanding of educational advancement across the regions in which CASE works.Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in administration of online surveys, data cleaning and analysis, and reporting.

  • Ability to assess and summarize complex information for a variety of audiences.
  • Must have strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with use of R and Excel for data analysis/visualizations required; PowerBI experience preferred.
  • Experience conducting secondary research using databases and online tools.
  • Ability to develop work plans and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, according to budget, deadlines, and the demands of collaboration.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a rapid response research environment, by assisting with idea formulation, research scoping, project planning, research design, and member support.
  • A pro-active and can-do attitude, even when working under pressure and with all levels of staff.
  • Strong written and verbal professional communication skills required.
Alternative Work Arrangement: After 4 weeks of employment, eligible staff are given the opportunity to work from home up to 2 days per week and in-office 3 days per week.
