Responsibilities
This position is responsible for performing experiments by following established protocols, marinating mouse colony (incudes weaning mouse pups, ear tagging, genotyping). In addition, candidate will order lab reagents, organize lab and work closely with senior lab scientists.
* The candidate will work independently and also assist with research questions including design, experiments, collection of data, preparation of reagents and set-up, maintenance of equipment, and organizing the lab activities. Assists with purchasing lab supplies, stocking and equipment/maintenance and will train/orient new personnel on purchasing process and maintain IBC, IRB & IACUC protocols in place. Assists in mouse works. Performs research assays under direction. Performs data entry and maintains data files on research. Prepares tissue cultures, reagents, probe tests, etc. Carry out compliance including procedures and maintaining required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry or closely related field.Required.
Experience:
Prior experience in basic/clinical lab is preferred but not required.
Any combination of education, training and experience that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.
For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is,and commensurate with the $45,000.00/year to $49,000.00/year applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates.
