DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with deep intellectual curiosity and a passion for public policy to join our team. You will work with other research assistants, policy analysts, and directly with lobbyists to manage and deliver qualitative analysis and consulting services to a variety of clients, including private companies, trade associations, non-profit organizations, and government entities. You will be expected to exercise problem-solving skills, cover congressional hearings, and review policies in order to produce memos that analyze and distill the most relevant information for our clients.

This position will provide you with opportunities to develop expertise in a variety of policy topics, as well as apply new skills in a supportive and collaborative work environment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· A bachelor's degree is required.

· The ideal candidate would have some public policy experience as well as a broad knowledge of and background in the legislative process.

· Candidates should have at least one-year of professional work experience. Hill experience is also valuable, but not required. (Hill experience can be in the form of congressional internships.)

· Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, with a proven track record of producing high-quality, client-ready work.

· Ability to quickly process new information, distill it into key points, and communicate clearly.

· Self-starter who can seamlessly pivot between working independently and in a team environment.

· Analytical thinker who has strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

· Ability to work in fast-paced environments and work under pressure to reliably meet competing deadlines and balance multiple priorities.

· Growth mindset focused on self-driven, continual learning.

· Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Prior experience with financial services and tax policy.

· Strong project management skills.

· Experience communicating effectively with different types of audiences, as well as the ability to adjust written materials to meet specific client needs.

· Client management experience, including communicating directly with clients (e.g., emails, video calls, in-person meetings, and formal presentations).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide administrative support to multiple lobbyists, including but not limited to:

  • Maintaining calendars and scheduling meetings;
  • Planning, organizing, and hosting in-office events;
  • Submitting expense reports;
  • Making travel arrangements; and,
  • Drafting and editing correspondence.

· Provide support to lobbyists and policy analysts on a range of client matters, including:

  • Monitoring congressional hearings (via webcast);
  • Drafting client memoranda;
  • Providing research support to existing and potential clients;
  • Assisting with the preparation of proposals and preparations; and,
  • Distributing, as necessary, articles related to clients in various media outlets.

· Develop research and track legislation on a number of topics, including:

  • ESG, in the form of a monthly tracker;
  • Regulatory agencies and proposed rulemakings;
  • Policy positions for high-level officials and members of Congress; and
  • Ongoing issues such as Basel III Endgame, TCJA, trade negotiations, and digital assets.

· Remain knowledgeable on pertinent issues related to financial services, trade, and tax.

· Social media engagement may also be included, as well as other projects as assigned.

· Provide backup phone coverage.
