Wistar's dynamic environment supports the advancement of discoveries that will change the future of human health.The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Research Assistant to join the laboratory of Dr. Yulia Nefedova. The Nefedova Laboratory focuses on the biology of myeloid cells in cancer, primarily multiple myeloma, and identification of potential therapeutic targets in this disease. The successful candidate will provide technical support by performing laboratory tasks and experiments. Responsibilities will include processing tissue samples from patients, performing flow cytometry analysis and qPCR, isolation cells from human and mouse tissues, and basic mouse colonies maintenance. A Bachelor's degree in a science-related field and at least two years of experience working in the lab are required. The ideal candidate will be proficient in flow cytometry, qPCR, tissue culture, and have some experience in the handling of laboratory animals (mice).The Wistar Institute is located in the University City area of Philadelphia, in the heart of the University of Pennsylvania Campus.
