Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our Cell Biology Group. The successful candidate will have a solid background in molecular biology techniques, particularly in screening nucleic acids, performing transfections, PCR, bDNA assays and maintaining primary and immortal cell cultures. This role requires excellent record-keeping skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to data quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct screening experiments for nucleic acids, ensuring high efficiency and reproducibility.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of experiments, observations, and results in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Perform molar dilutions and other necessary calculations to prepare reagents and solutions accurately.
  • Execute transfection protocols, optimizing conditions for various cell lines.
  • Oversee routine cell culture maintenance, including passaging, cryopreservation, and general monitoring of cell health.
  • Utilize electroporation or nucleofection techniques when required to enhance transfection efficiency.
  • Analyze experimental data using GraphPad Prism to generate graphs and statistical analysis as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, provide support on bioanalytical assays, and contribute to ongoing research projects.
  • Uphold best laboratory practices to ensure data quality, integrity, and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in screening nucleic acids in a research or laboratory setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Strong understanding of molar dilutions and other quantitative techniques in a laboratory environment.
  • Experience in cell culture techniques, including transfection of various mammalian cell lines.
  • Familiarity with electroporation or nucleofection is a plus.
  • Proficiency in data analysis using GraphPad Prism is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • A dedicated work ethic with a commitment to producing high-quality data.

Preferred Skills:

  • Broad understanding of bioanalytical assays and their applications in cell, molecular, and biochemical research.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
