Overview:

AlivaMab Biologics is seeking a talented and motivated Research Associate, Molecular Cloning, to join our Antibody Engineering Team. This position will be responsible for conducting molecular cloning of antigen and antibody molecules in expression vectors. This role will work with all available tools in molecular biology and be responsible for scaling and prepping DNA vectors at various scales and for sequence verification. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Antibody Engineering and work closely with scientists in Antibody Discovery and Protein Sciences. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the expansion of Biologics drug discovery and engineering capabilities at AlivaMab Biologics.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

• Construct design, molecular cloning of various antigens and antibodies in different expression vectors.
• Generating sequence maps and verifying sequences of the expression vectors.
• DNA isolation using gel extraction and other DNA isolation kits.
• DNA production and purification at various scale (mini to maxi scale).
• Designing and building expression constructs for recombinant protein production and immunization vectors within expected timelines.
• Collaborate seamlessly with our Protein Sciences and Antibody Discovery teams to enable project advancement.
• Implementing innovative molecular cloning strategies.
• Document the work in ELN, maintaining reagents inventory both physically and electronically.

• This is a full-time and lab-based position.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• BS or MS in a relevant scientific area, such as Molecular Biology, Immunology, or Biotechnology, plus with an experience in molecular biology.
• Experienced and detailed knowledge of molecular biology techniques.
• Experienced with DNA isolation and sequence verification.
• Experienced with agarose gel electrophoresis.
• Familiarity with sequence analysis software(s) is highly desired.
• Familiarity with construct design for challenging targets in various expression systems is desired.
• A keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are required.
• High degree of integrity and professionalism and dedication to exceptional quality.

The salary range for this position considers various factors, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs. Note that this range does not reflect any geographic adjustments based on the location where the role will be based. At AlivaMab Biologics, it is uncommon for a new hire to start at or near the top of the salary range, as compensation is tailored to each individuals circumstances. The current estimated range is $54,500 $87,000, plus a bonus target, benefits, and equity.
