This individual will be responsible for performing automated SCPD and XMT ELISA and screening XMT and mouse fusions to provide monoclonal antibody clones with the best utilities possible to be developed into final products. This position will focus on an early step in our product development process and will enable broad exposure to the full monoclonal antibody development process. At appropriate time this individual will rotate to another role of the team, namely the Fuser (Immortalization) Role.You'll have the opportunity to...Coat ELISA plates for XMT and SCPD pipelines with robots or manuallyRun XMT ELISA semi-automaticallyRun SCPD ELISA using automated Workcell or manually when necessaryAct as the point of contact with Automation Group and work closely with the Group to resolve issues surrounding SCPD ELISA automationContribute to teams goal of achieving highest possible screen success rate for XMT and mouse fusions as defined by percentage of XMT/mouse fusions resulting in cloning requests filed by Antibody Development ScientistsTake over XMT or mouse fusion cultures from XMT or fusion performerFeed cultures to maintain optimal cell growth conditions to obtain maximum number of XMT or fusion coloniesMaintain appropriate CO2 levels, temperature, and water level of assigned incubatorsConduct periodic cleaning and decontamination of assigned biosafety cabinet and incubator(s) to ensure that cultures are free of microorganism contaminationProvide XMT or fusion culture supernatants to Antibody Discovery Verticals and/or Clinical Application Testing Groups to facilitate western and applications testingMeet all internal service level agreements in turnaround time to release the requested clones to Recombinant Cloning Group and Antibody Production Group for further product developmentPurge unwanted frozen cultures in LN2 tanks and effectively manage existing LN2 storage spaces to ensure efficient productivityParticipate in tissue culture room restocking and recyclingProcess and document resulting data in accordance with CST hard copy and electronic laboratory documentation requirements (e.g. notebooks, electronic LIMS, Jira, PDP, PLM, etc.)Who you are and what you bring to the team...BS degree in a biological science with a minimum 2 years experience; or MS degree in a biological science with 0 - 1 years experience (e.g. cell biology, immunology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or biotechnology)Basic understanding and working knowledge of experimental design and protocols, some hands-on or class experience/exposure with tissue cultureComputer proficiency including working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Google Docs, or related applicationsStrong written and oral communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentProven effective team contributorAttention to detailDemonstrated organizational skillsEarly morning attendance capabilityIdeally you'll have...Degree in cell biology or immunology.Basic scientific understanding and application of fundamental biological experimentsKnowledge in signal transduction is desirableAbility to analyze and problem solveAdvanced Excel skills (e.g. function writing and page referencing)Early morning attendance capabilityWhat we offer....At Cell Signaling Technology (CST), we recognize that people will always be our most important asset.
