Objective / Purpose:
The viral vector core within our Cell Therapy Sciences team is seeking a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate. In this role, you will work with the Cell Therapy Sciences discovery units to execute early screening of novel viral vector constructs for cell therapy applications.
Accountabilities:
- Produces small-scale, research-grade retroviral vectors for use in preclinical studies with guidance from the vector core and drug discovery teams.
- Evaluates viral vector titer, generates data summary reports, and communicates conclusions with research team members individually and in meetings.
- Documents experimental designs, methods, and results in electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Works within the context of the vector core team to coordinate resources and execute incoming vector production requests.
- Works collaboratively with other members of the vector core team to inform operational procedures and process improvements.
Education & Competencies (Technical and Behavioral):
- Desired education and experience qualifications: BS with 1-2+ years of relevant scientific experience. Prior hands-on experience with viral vectors is strongly desired.
- Technical Skills: adherent and suspension mammalian cell culture, plasmid transfection, retroviral vector production and transduction, flow cytometry, data analysis and presentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced research team.
- Experienced in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong planning, communication, and documentation skills are required. Meticulous attention to detail is a must.
