The Wilckens Laboratory examines the role of sleep in brain health and cognition within the Center for Sleep and Circadian Science. This study coordinator position is for the Alzheimer's Pathways Sleep Study (ALPS): a sleep research study examining effects of a behavioral sleep intervention on cognitive aging and Alzheimer's disease risk. This is an in-person position with normal business hours and some evening and early morning hours.
The Research Coord will be running participants through a research study that includes overnight sleep studies, MRI scans, and cognitive testing. They will be trained to perform neuropsychological assessments and will be trained to handle plasma samples. They would be helping to promote diversity within our participant research sample.
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities:
* Perform in-person study coordination duties during the day and complete data collection activities in the evenings and/or mornings before and after participants complete overnight sleep studies
* Complete training in neuropsychological testing and conduct neuropsychological evaluations with participants
* Schedule and carry out neuroimaging sessions
* Work with other study staff to ensure integrity across study components
* Attend weekly lab meetings in person and other groups meetings as requested
* Maintain research records and data including responsibility for communications electronically, via email, mail or fax with project sponsor, all regulatory agencies, and principal investigators.
* Reimburse subjects for study participation
* Attend educational seminars to advance knowledge in research coordination.
* Responsible for project documentation and audit-related activities.
* Recruit participants, conduct study visits and follows subjects through study completion.
* Assist with laboratory packing and shipping.
* Maintain compliance with IRB regulations.
* Coordinate all supplies, forms and records with project sponsor and regulatory agencies.
* Track recruitment efforts and communication with subjects.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree required, preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, sociology or related research field.
* Minimum of one year of work experience in research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
* Experience working with participants in a research setting.
* Experience with IRB protocols. Have an interest in research on sleep and cognition and an interest in enhancing diversity in clinical research populations.
* Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
* Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
* Act 34 with renewal
