The Research Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Foundation's global Research team, whose members are based in a variety of locations in the US and abroad. The global Research team leads Foundation-level strategy, supports country-based research teams, and manages centrally awarded studies. This Coordinator serves as a key resource for the Research team by supporting the operational tasks needed for the successful conduct of high-quality studies on the prevention, care and treatment of HIV/AIDS and related illnesses that inform the field through high-impact research publications.No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect in this role?Study and Departmental Support, Documentation, and Reporting (50%)
- Assist with the development, formatting and editing of key research products, including departmental summaries and presentations. Collate information from various sources to produce reports or other requested documentation.
- Develop and/or edit manuscripts including graphics, tables, and charts.
- Support research activities as needed including conducting literature reviews, editing/formatting study documents and related data collection tools, and retrieving and formatting references.
- Support special initiatives under the direction of study principal investigators, such as data entry and analysis, study protocol writing, data analysis workshop planning, or others as requested.
- Provide administrative support to the Vice President for Research and other Research department leadership.
Internal Communications and Knowledge Management (25%)
- Maintain the Research team's Intranet page and Research Hub, uploading content and obtaining and reporting related information as needed.
- Assist with knowledge management initiatives, including maintaining team files, ensuring version control, tracking staff publications, and documenting team processes and procedures.
- Serve as the administrative point of contact for EGPAF staff engaging in the Foundation's student research partnership with a local university and maintain related records.
Meeting and Conference Facilitation (20%)
- Schedule and coordinate routine and ad-hoc department, research leadership, and research forum in-person and virtual meetings; participate, create and circulate notes, and communicate next steps.
- Prepare materials for internal and external meetings with staff, donors, partners, etc.
- Assist with the planning and organization of local and international meetings or conferences.
- Support Research team-led trainings and country-based capacity strengthening activities as requested.
Travel and Financial Support (5%)
- Assist with making travel arrangements (e.g. booking flights, finding accommodations, obtaining visas, etc.) and submitting expense reports for the Vice President for Research and directors as requested.
- Make travel arrangements for EGPAF staff and external parties who visit the Washington, D.C. office on business related to the Research team.
- Process invoices and liaise with other departments to issue any needed contracts or vendor agreements.
QualificationsTo be successful, you will have:
- 1+ years of relevant experience.
- A bachelor's degree in any field.
- Excellent MS Office skills, oral and written communications skills with strong copy editing and formatting skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in cross-cultural environments or with colleagues in diverse locations
- Familiarity with or interest in public health, research, international development or a related field a plus.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time independently; excellent attention to detail with great organizational skills; ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with research activities preferred.
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS care and treatment or research in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Working knowledge of French or Portuguese.
- Any level of skill in the Adobe Creative Suite
Additional InformationSalary RangeThe expected salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 annually in the Washington, DC Metro area. This position is non-exempt and paid hourly. For US-based remote staff, EGPAF uses geographical ranges that are based on the candidate's location and the associated cost of labor.Actual base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as qualifications, experience and training, education and certifications, internal equity, external market data, and budget.BenefitsEGPAF offers a comprehensive range of benefits tailored to each country.
