Job Description:

We are seeking a talented, ambitious Research Director to join our Sport Custom Research team here at YouGov!

As Custom Research Director for YouGov Sport, you will develop and deliver innovative market research solutions, knowledge and insights to our sport industry clients. You will lead the custom research team for one of YouGov's key verticals in a high priority market for the company and sport sector specifically.

This role will oversee a team responsible for client consultation and servicing excellence for all ad hoc consumer research conducted on behalf of US Sport clients.

What will I be delivering?

Research Expertise

  • Provide strategic direction on the design, pricing, and execution of primary market research projects of quantitative and qualitative nature.
  • Collaborate with internal YouGov operational and cross-functional teams to complete research fieldwork in the US as well as international markets.
  • Design and write custom research reports delivering actionable insights and recommendations and present findings to clients.
  • Perform analysis on collected data and interpret findings in ways that answer key business questions; apply knowledge of multivariate techniques.

Client Servicing Excellence

  • Lead consultative client discussions to uncover business needs and identify research objectives.
  • Develop client-driven research designs, pricing, and proposals for ad hoc research programs.
  • Support initiatives to evolve and improve our client deliverables and drive a culture of best-in-class research standards.

Leadership

  • Lead an engaged, collaborative and high-performance team of researchers tasked with executing and delivering custom research to our US Sport clientele.
  • Manage pricing strategy and profitability for sport custom research.
  • Create, develop and maintain strong relationships across YouGov Sport and work collaboratively with key stakeholders.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • Extensive experience conducting custom, primary market research projects via a wide variety of research techniques, most importantly quantitative research.
  • Experience on the research/delivery side of a relevant B2B organization (such as market research, sport sponsorship/consulting, etc.).
  • Experience directly interacting with and managing client relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Leadership/management experience including a proven track record of leading high performance teams of 3+ individuals.
  • Experience with developing pricing strategy for custom research programs, including management of overall team profitability.
  • Expertise in leading development of custom research proposals in response to client briefs.
  • Passion for process/work-flow optimization, data hygiene, and attention to detail.
