GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) All of Us Research Program is a landmark longitudinal research effort that aims to engage one million or more U.S. participants. The Programs mission is to speed up health research breakthroughs. Participants are invited to contribute to All of Us for 10 years, by sharing a range of data about themselves, by completing questionnaires, granting access to their electronic health records, providing bloodand urine samples, undergoing a physical evaluation, and sharing real-time information via smartphones or wearable devices. A primary goal of All of Us is to create a national resource for researchers to help answer important questions about a variety of health conditions. The All of Us Research Program will support research in various areas, including pharmacogenetics, precision medicine, prediction and prevention, to advance treatments of diseases. To accomplish the program mission, it is important to continue to engage participants as they contribute information over the 10 years of their involvement in All of Us and to return value of research to participants.

Mass General Brigham (MGB), in collaboration with Boston Medical Center (BMC), was selected as one of ten enrollment sites for the All of Us Research program. More than 30,000 participants were enrolled in All of Us across New England. The MGB and BMC sites have been successful in retaining more than 40% of participants in activities for All of Us.

Now, the NIH national program is seeking support to define best practices for participant engagement and retention, in All of Us that can be used by All of Us sites across the US, to support participants to continue to share information and value from research for the duration of their participation in the program.

The Research Coordinator position will work closely with the Programs Research Project Manager and Program Manager to identify best practices, promising practices and innovations in engagement to retain participants in longitudinal, observational research studies such as All of Us. The successful candidate will have experience with, or willingness to learn strategies for reading and summarizing literature, interviewing stakeholders, developing creative and appealing summarizes for use in toolkits, and contributing to writing for summary reports and scientific publications.

Principal duties may vary over time with grant funding and project demands, and with skill level of other staff assigned to projects.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lead and coordinate literature reviews and documents results of literature searches using electronic software (e.g. Zotero, Mendeley, ResearchRabbit, Notion, Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).

2. Prepare presentations for diverse stakeholder groups, including participant ambassadors, managers and researchers.

3. Prepare interview guides and support interviews of diverse stakeholder groups to learn opinions regarding best practices.

4. Summarize meeting notes and communicate findings to diverse stakeholder groups

5. Design and develop reports and materials use in toolkits to summarize findings from interviews, literature reviews, and other data sources

6. Support team meetings, scheduling, communication

7. Contribute to scientific publications

8. Contribute to written scientific reports

9. Contribute to writing monthly report updates

10. All other duties as assigned

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

1. Must have excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to interact effectively with people from varied cultural and educational backgrounds.

2. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

3. Must be able to prioritize and organize work responsibilities in order to meet deadlines.

4. Must possess strong writing and verbal communication skills

5. Must demonstrate accuracy in recording data.

6. Must possess strong database management and overall computer skills.

7. Must be able to make independent judgments for the abovementioned job duties and responsibilities.

8. Ability to identify problems and develop solutions.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Bachelors degree required,

EXPERIENCE:

1. 1+ year of research experience required

2. Previous history of writing reports, publications or building toolkits a definite plus

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Will assist in the training and orienting to new staff members

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY (if applicable): Indicate financial scope information, i.e.: size of budget, volume, revenue, etc.; Indicate total physician/non-physician FTE scope

Works in normal office environment. This is a hybrid position that has virtual and in-person duties.
