We are currently seeking a Research Facilities Management Specialist with the National Institutes of Health in Baltimore, MD

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS. The contractor shall:

  • Complete and review property documents for acquisitions, donations, transfers, and surplus submissions to ensure accuracy in user info, property identification, and accounting data.
  • Coordinate with IRP Property Team on acquiring, shipping, maintaining, transferring, and retiring surplus NIH equipment.
  • Lead facility design and construction projects, including equipment and infrastructure upgrades to meet budget and schedule needs.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, landlords, and NIH stakeholders to support business operations and project requirements.
  • Manage and ensure maintenance of critical building systems, including mechanical, fire safety, elevators, and laboratory closures or relocations.
  • Develop emergency preparedness plans, conduct safety checks, and ensure readiness for various hazards by coordinating with division safety staff.
  • Create and monitor budget projections for all renovation aspects, including construction, furniture, and commissioning, with focus on fiscal closeout.
  • Collaborate on architectural and engineering plans, create layouts in AutoCAD, and evaluate cost-effective solutions for renovations.
  • Conduct impact studies for new scientific equipment, ensuring compatibility with infrastructure and assessing resources for HVAC, utilities, and safety.
  • Update and monitor floor plans, utility systems, and emergency plans, ensuring efficient space assignment and infrastructure to meet project and equipment requirements.

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:

  • Degree or experience in related field of Engineering, Business Management

  • Less Than a Bachelor's Degree
