Research Faculty - Microbial Infection and Immunity (Open Rank/Track Faculty)Apply locations Medical Center Campus time type Full time posted on Posted 30+ Days Ago job requisition id R95609The Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center solicits applications for a tenure-track faculty member, at any rank, who is conducting research in host-microbe dynamics. Candidates should have an MD, MD/Ph.D., or Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, documented evidence of high-quality, impactful research, and a strong commitment to education and research at a major university. Preference will be given to individuals with research programs focused on the interface between bacteria (either individual or within communities) and the immune system.Current strengths of the Department include innate and adaptive immunity, mucosal pathogens, biofilms, autoimmunity, intracellular parasitism, and vaccines. The Department has outstanding facilities and support, including a vibrant collaborative research community, an open laboratory environment that promotes interactions, and state-of-the-art core facilities. The Department is closely affiliated with the Infectious Disease Institute, the Center for Microbiome Sciences, the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology, and other OSU Institutes and Centers.The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program and participate in graduate and medical student education. Candidates who are mid-level or senior will have an established research program with ongoing extramural funding and an impactful publication record.
