Title: Assistant Director

Position location: ESF's Syracuse campus.
Salary: $83,000-$90,000 depending on qualifications
Primary Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
* Working under the general direction of the Director of Finance, assist in the management of all College Foundation & subsidiaries fiscal operations including accounting, budgeting, cash management, procurement, payroll, fund management and scholarship administration.
* Oversee the daily financial activities of the ESF College Foundation, Abby Lane, LLC and Abby Lane Housing Corporation including but not limited to:
* Review & approve monthly bank reconciliations and prepare necessary adjustments
* Prepare monthly investment account reconciliations
* Prepare other monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and prepare necessary adjustments
* Review annual calculated spending plan budgets in accordance with the Foundation's spending plan policy and endowment expendable policy:
* Manage individual fund budgets and monitor spending within annual spending plan amounts
* Manage annual expenditures of scholarships / fellowships
* Review current accounting software capabilities, particularly with Blackbaud, to develop solutions and recommendations for a more efficient means of generating investment return allocations, fund overheads, and processing and reporting information to fund administrators and staff.
* Assist the Director of Finance in developing an awards management policy for funds administered through the Research Foundation of SUNY
* Assist the Director of Finance with financial administrative requirements of College Foundation grants
* Prepare information reports for fund administrators and Development Officers as needed.
* Share responsibilities with the Director of Finance in preparation of internal quarterly financial statements
* Share responsibilities with the Director of Finance in preparation of requested schedules and summaries required for annual audit and help ensure timely completion of such audit and filing of 990 tax returns.
* Share responsibilities with the Director of Finance in preparation of requested tax workbooks for completion of annual 990 and CHAR500 tax filings
* Monitor insurance policies and files for ESF College Foundation, Inc. and Subsidiaries. Work with insurance broker to revise, update, and establish new policies as needed. Establish and maintain a working file of Certificates of Insurance for Centennial Hall.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
* Microsoft Office expertise and advanced use of Microsoft Excel
* Detail-oriented with a proven record of setting and meeting goals
* Demonstrated skill in troubleshooting, developing solutions and implementing the chosen solution
* Organization skills and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and independently; to use initiative and follow through to complete tasks in a timely manner
* Strong interpersonal and analytical skills; ability to communicate effective, both orally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certified Public Accountant
* Experience with Blackbaud's Financial Edge
* Experience with fund accounting
