Overview JOB DUTIES: Under the direction of the Division Director and Division Chief, or assignee, supervises, coordinates, educates and administers a funded research studies/activities or group of associated activities. Coordinates, develops and administers research trial activities on behalf of the Director. Assist in project planning and ensures that established work scope study protocol and regulatory requirements are prepared and followed. Essential Functions: Management of research staff to include interviewing and hiring, performance evaluations, leave requests, and disciplinary actions. Coordinates and prepares Initial Institution Review Board (IRB) submissions, serves as liaison for communications between the IRB and department investigators in project commissioning. May coordinate the procurement and disposition of research facilities and/or equipment; establishes and coordinates logistical arrangements for research subjects and outreach activities as appropriate to the study. Responsible for managing budgets and billing the industry for trial costs - monitoring charges expended against research grants and projects and coordinated payment with the industry. Liaison between the department and other UF Shands/Jacksonville Departments. Monitor all site performance parameters and report these to the appropriate study personnel along with suggestions for improvement when necessary.
