Job Description:

The Clinical Cardiovascular Research Center (CCRC) at the University of Rochester Medical Center, is an international leader in cardiovascular research, focuses on areas such as cardiovascular risk stratification, heart failure therapy, and sudden cardiac death prevention. With a research portfolio exceeding $65M, this center drives cutting-edge studies funded by organizations like PCORI, NIH, and industry sponsors.

The Research Program Manager will work under the Program Director's guidance to oversee multiple large, multi-center, and multi-program international research projects. The role includes managing all phases of project operations, such as administration, budgeting, staff supervision, protocol development, data quality, training, and regulatory compliance. The manager will exercise independent judgment while leading the research team, handling recruitment, performance reviews, and other personnel tasks.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Project Management: Plan, direct, and coordinate all phases of multi-center research projects, including staff supervision, budget oversight, protocol development, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Financial Oversight: Establish financial reporting systems, manage budgets, control expenditures, and report financial statuses to department leadership.
  • Operational Leadership: Allocate resources such as personnel and infrastructure to support research studies, optimize workflows, and ensure studies are adequately resourced to meet timelines.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to U.S. and international regulatory requirements, including preparation of consent forms, INDs, and IDEs.
  • Staff Management: Hire, train, and supervise administrative and program staff, and coordinate recruitment and training for trial investigators and coordinators.
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Work with senior leadership on policy development, report project progress, and represent the Program Director in internal and external meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong experience in overseeing complex research projects, budget management, and team leadership.
