Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in scientific field or equivalent and two years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's (preferably) or Bachelor's degree in virology, viral immunology and/or molecular biology or a related field. Experience with virology, viral immunology and/or molecular biology.
Job Summary:
Works with the Principal Investigator, study team and senior department administration to assure research project budgets and schedules are executed in a timely manner.
Job Duties:
A Research Project Manager position in the area of emerging viruses and vaccines is available in the laboratory of Dr. Alexander Bukreyev (Department of Pathology). The research projects to be coordinated are aimed at investigation of pathogenesis of emerging viral infections and development of vaccines and other countermeasures. The successful candidate will be expected to manage and coordinate studies between laboratory members involved in the project, to manage and coordinate interactions with external collaborators, to maintain project schedules and reporting, to assist with the acquisition of animal subjects, and to write and maintain protocols for animal experiments. While work on the projects include experiments in BSL4, BSL3 and BSL2 labs, the Research Coordinator is not expected to work under biocontainment or do any experimental work.
