The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology has 2 outstanding openings for Research Scientist/Engineer 2. This position reports to Dr. Alex Greninger in the Greninger Lab. This position will support research looking at viral replication, viral-host protein-protein interactions, drug efficacy, viral evolution, and viral genome sequencing fields.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related field AND 2 years of relevant experience, OR Equivalent combination of education/experience.
Desired Knowledge/Skills:PCR, primers and probe design, PCR product detection, next-generation sequencing, DNA sequencing analysis, DNA sequence analysis programs. Molecular biology background, PCR, sequencing, computer programming ability to analyze sequencing data.
