JOB DESCRIPTION: Patch clamp electrophysiologist to conduct experiments in laboratory mice. The person will work full-time. JOB DUTIES: Most days will be spent on experiments that require knowledge of patch clamp and data analysis of electrophysiological data from laboratory mice. A PhD in neuroscience or a related discipline is required. Additional skills include the ability to work with others, prepare figures using Photoshop, Excel and other programs, and write scientific papers. It is important to be able to communicate regularly with the supervisor and work with the supervisor during experiments. Strong data organization skills are mandatory. Publishing at least 1 first-author paper/year and others as secondary author is expected. The ability to conduct stereotaxic surgery, behavioral testing, perfusion-fixation, immunocytochemistry and confocal microscopy is useful. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: PhD in Neuroscience or related discipline. Experience in patch clamp of mouse slices. Experience in data analysis, presentations and publications. Experience in immunocytochemistry, confocal microscopy, data reporting, behavioral testing, viral injection, stereotaxic surgery, mouse models of epilepsy and Alzheimer's disease.
