Job Title: Research Scientist IIGrade: 22Salary: $75,999 - $86,588The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Research Scientist II, Grade 22, for NYS Office of Mental Health initiatives focused on the mental health crisis system and improving provider communications. The goals of these initiatives include improving the coordination of emergency and crisis response systems, supporting referrals, facilitating communication and interoperability between outpatient providers and crisis providers, and enhancing the oversight of crisis systems. This position will be responsible for crisis data analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and results-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.This position will report to the Director of the Data Science Bureau within the Office of Population Health and Evaluation. Note: this position does not provide relocation assistance. A cover letter and resume are required. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist robust data infrastructure development for report development and analytics.
- Conduct and document data cleansing, matching, validation, and analysis to support analytics using multiple data sources.
- Design/produce data visualizations and reports using Tableau and other reporting tools.
- Develop processes to ensure data quality and integrity and analyze model performance for reporting and analytics.
- Analyze data using statistical models and/or data mining tools.
- Collaborate with other researchers on research design, methods, analysis, and reports.
- Review and improve existing systems, collaborate with teams to integrate new systems, and automate processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and three years of professional research experience in an appropriate field or master's degree in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of experience, and Ph.D. in an appropriate field may substitute for an additional year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years or more of professional or academic experience with:
- Analysis of large health data sets such as Medicaid or other large administrative health data systems and relational databases, preferably in a data warehouse environment such as Oracle.
- Development of reports using Tableau/SAS or other software,
- Quantitative research design, data dictionary and code documentation
